Brian Zirkel

I am a senior at Northeastern University pursuing a major in Psychology and a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience. I am working with the lab as part of the Northeastern University Co-op Program. I joined the lab to learn more about how various mental health disorders, such as schizophrenia, anxiety, and depression, are impacted by sleep. Long term, I am interested in studying the environmental, social, and biological causes of mental health disorders and developing effective forms of treatment for them. In addition to this, I am interested in the growing field of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and its potential applications for mental health disorders. I am interested to see how these treatments and other factors, such as sleep, impact one another. I also enjoy photography, video games, and spending time outdoors.
